Zoom 9010

Zoom 9010 Advanced Sound Processor

The Zoom 9010 is a highly advanced effects unit, offering four independent channels, flexible routing options, customisable send/return connections, real-time control of parameters, and the ability to run up to seven effects simultaneously.

Zoom 9010 Advanced Sound Processor Details

The Zoom 9010 offers 16-bit quantisation and a 44.1 kHz sampling rate across both A/D and D/A conversion, with a dynamic range exceeding 90 dB.

The Zoom 9010 is the first device in its category to provide four independent effect channels (4 in/4 out), delivering more than double the performance power compared to other products in its price range.

Unlike conventional multi-effect units that only let you change the type and order of effects, the 9010 introduces a multi-routing function that allows you to adjust the internal connections and architecture of the unit itself. This function opens up a vast range of possibilities. For example, the Zoom 9010 can operate as four standalone effect units or as a multi-effect unit with an effects loop, ideal for use with a guitar.

The built-in card slot allows for the loading of new effect programs and routing configurations from ROM cards, as well as saving user-created patches onto RAM cards.

The Zoom 9010 includes a high-impedance input jack on the front panel, making it especially useful for guitar players. This input is integrated with rear panel input 1.

The Zoom 9010 features powerful real-time control capabilities. Pedals and footswitches can be connected to the two independent pedal/footswitch terminals to control effect parameters in real time. Additionally, the Zoom 9010 can be controlled via an optional wired remote-control unit for added convenience.

The Zoom 9010’s MIDI control capabilities go beyond simple patch switching with program change messages. It also supports real-time effect parameter control via control change messages. For example, you can adjust chorus modulation by moving a MIDI synth’s modulation wheel or change the amount of reverb based on how hard you hit a key on a MIDI keyboard. Data transfer through system exclusive messages is also supported.

The Zoom 9010 is an advanced multi-effect unit that not only allows you to apply multiple effects simultaneously but also lets you fully reconfigure the signal path, both internally and externally. Essentially, the Zoom 9010 functions as multiple multi-effect devices in one. You can customise its configuration to suit your specific signal processing needs.

Despite its advanced features and sophisticated functions, the Zoom 9010 is designed to be user-friendly. While the range of signal processing options might seem overwhelming, we recommend following this simple approach:

  • Decide on the routing (effect routing configuration) and effect modules (input/output configuration) that you need.
  • Set up the necessary input and output connections.
  • Choose the effect or effects you want to use.
  • Adjust the parameters of each effect as required.
