Stomp Box Setup
If you’re familiar with using serially connected pedal effects (stomp boxes), you can replicate that setup with the TC Electronic G-Major 2 and enjoy its superior quality effects. Simply connect a MIDI pedal capable of sending MIDI Control Change messages to the TC Electronic G-Major 2. After some basic settings, you can use this configuration just like traditional stomp boxes, turning effects on and off as needed.

Preset Setup – For Ultimate Sound Changes
Alternatively, you can create unique presets for each sound and access them with a single press on a MIDI foot controller. You can also combine this preset approach with the stomp box setup, switching between effects as desired.

Channel Switching
Switching from a clean rhythm tone to an overdriven lead usually requires changing both your effects preset and your amp’s channels. Normally, this would require a separate MIDI switching system, but the G-Major 2 has a built-in Relay Switch that lets you change up to four preamp/combo channels directly via MIDI.

Modifiers – Instant Parameter Control
For even more flexibility, TC Electronic G-Major 2’s Modifier section allows instant parameter control. Many effect parameters can be assigned to an external MIDI controller or expression pedal. With endless possibilities, you can control anything from effect levels to panning speed, or even transform the expression pedal into a custom Whammy pedal.
