The Tascam CD-RW900 was introduced as an enhanced successor to the popular Tascam CD-RW750, incorporating a host of features that had been widely requested by users. It added MP3 playback with ID3 tag support, allowing track names to be displayed during playback, and enabled folder navigation for better file organisation prior to burning.
The Tascam CD-RW900 also featured pitch control with a ±16% range and introduced a Key Original function, which adjusted playback speed without altering pitch. A PS/2 keyboard input allowed for efficient naming of tracks using CD Text and offered one-key access to commonly used menu functions. Designed to occupy 2U of rackspace, the Tascam CD-RW900 came equipped with unbalanced RCA analogue I/O and S/PDIF digital I/O via both optical and coaxial connections.
Front panel analogue input level controls and a digital input trim provided further flexibility. Renowned for their ease of use, Tascam CD recorders like the Tascam CD-RW900 became a go-to solution for applications in schools, houses of worship, and various contractor environments.
