The Sony DFX-2400 Sample Rate Converter was designed to solve the challenge of exchanging digital audio data between systems operating at different sampling frequencies.
It proved especially valuable when working with Sony’s PCM-3324A digital multitrack recorder, offering seamless integration with other digital audio setups. The Sony DFX-2400 also addressed the complexities of varispeed-controlled recordings by allowing precise adjustment of sampling frequencies.
Capable of converting any input sampling frequency between 30kHz and 50kHz, the Sony DFX-2400 outputs to standard rates of 32kHz, 44.056kHz, 44.1kHz, and 48kHz.
It also enabled format conversion between the AES/EBU interface and Sony’s SDIF-2 format (unbalanced), enhancing compatibility across a wide range of professional digital audio equipment. With 16-bit conversion resolution, the Sony DFX-2400 maintained audio fidelity in demanding studio environments.
