RME M-16 DA Digital to Analogue Converter Details

The RME M-16 DA is a professional-grade 16-channel digital-to-analogue converter engineered for high-resolution audio systems in studio, stage, and broadcast environments. Built with the same precision analogue circuitry as the larger RME M-32 DA, the RME M-16 DA delivers transparent, low-distortion conversion with a high dynamic range and reliable performance across all channels.

Each of the 16 balanced line-level outputs is accessible via 6.3 mm TRS and 25-pin D-sub connectors, and features selectable reference levels of +13 dBu, +19 dBu, or +24 dBu to suit a variety of professional audio standards. The outputs are double balanced and derived from RME’s reference-grade DA stage, ensuring consistent signal integrity from input to output.

Digital inputs include one optical MADI port and four ADAT optical ports, supporting a total of 16 channels at sample rates up to 192 kHz. RME’s SteadyClock technology provides stable, ultra-low-jitter clocking, allowing the RME M-16 DA to operate reliably in complex digital environments. Word Clock I/O is included for flexible integration into external sync configurations.

Status LEDs with six-level metering are provided for each output channel, offering immediate visual feedback. All device settings can be remotely accessed via standard MIDI or MIDI over MADI. Housed in a rugged 2U rackmount chassis with an internal wide-range power supply, the RME M-16 DA offers dependable, high-performance conversion for any professional audio workflow requiring up to 16 DA channels.
