AMS/Neve release new AMS RMX16 Digital Reverb

With the recent release of TC Electronics TC2290-DT hybrid plug-in/hardware remake of the 2290 Digital Delay from the mid 1980’s, it was only a matter of time before someone re-released a full hardware unit. The real surprise of course is that it is the AMS RMX16!

The original AMS RMS16’s are still in use in many studios the world over, but those units are fragile and will not last forever. There is of course the wonderful UAD plug-in from Universal Audio for those like me who can not afford the original old hardware which sells for pretty serious coin these days.

AMS RMX16

Enter the all new 500 Series AMS/Neve AMS RMX16. It is somewhat odd that they have decided to use the 500 Series format, I would have thought a single RU rack mount would have won more hearts as not everyone has jumped on board the 500 Series platform, myself included.

But, it does not matter, what does matter is that hardware is coming back and there is no better vintage digital reverb to have brought back, than the AMS RMX16!
