At the same time, take full advantage of its true, non-linear recording and editing capabilities with features such as cut/copy/paste track editing, 99 layers of undo, RS-422 (Sony® 9-pin) support, ADAT™ Sync I/O, and broadcast wave (.bwf) file format compatibility. To simply put it, the Mackie SDR24/96 offers professional-level features in an easy-to-use interface for a variety of venues from an amphitheatre to your garage.
Its front panel controls are fashioned after familiar tape-based systems. But, unlike tape-based recorders, the Mackie SDR24/96 benefits from a high-performance, extremely reliable embedded record engine, allowing for the Mackie SDR24/96 to keep up even with the most demanding applications. Non-linear recording allows the Mackie SDR24/96 to record multiple versions of a track or track segment without destroying the original-nothing is lost.
During playback, the recorder blends the non-linear segments into a seamless stream of audio. In addition, the Mackie SDR24/96 is able to significantly increase recording time per gigabyte by efficiently using only the space needed for actual audio.
An internal IDE hard drive provides storage for up to 90 minutes of 24-track (192 virtual tracks) recording while an onboard drive bay will accommodate the same tried and true Mackie Media™ M90 back-up pullout drives used by the Mackie MDR24/96 and HDR24/96 hard disk recorders. And if that wasn’t enough, the SDR24/96 has the processing power for 12+ channels at 24-bit/96kHz.
Ready to use right out of the box, the Mackie SDR24/96 comes with fixed rear panel inputs and outputs that include 24 channels of analogue via six DB-25 ports, ADAT™ optical, MIDI I/O for MMC and MTC, SMPTE, and clock inputs and outputs. All analogue and digital I/O is built right into the back panel, so integration with mixing consoles and/or digital audio workstations is quick and painless. Also included with the SDR24/96 is a USB port for export of .wav, .bwf and .aif files to PC or Macintosh computers. The SDR24/96 is also fully compatible with the Mackie Remote 24 controller.
With its powerful combination of professional-grade features, the Mackie SDR24/96 continues Mackie’s commitment to building high-feature, high-value professional audio products.
