Looptrotter Emperor Limiter

The Looptrotter Emperor Limiter is an analogue processor combining compression, limiting, and harmonic distortion. With FET-based design, tone-shaping filters, and DRY/WET control, it adds warmth, brightness, and analogue character.

Looptrotter Emperor Limiter Details

The Looptrotter Emperor Limiter is an analogue dynamics processor that functions as a compressor, limiter, or harmonic distortion generator. Designed to create a vivid analogue character, it enhances instruments, subgroups, and mixes with warmth, brightness, and added loudness, depending on the DRIVE settings.

At its core is a FET transistor inspired by 1960s limiters, introducing sound reduction and low-order harmonics. Unique design elements from Looptrotter’s expertise ensure a distinctive sonic signature. Two independent filters in the control circuit allow precise tone shaping, reducing low-frequency distortion and pumping or functioning as an analogue de-esser for bright, dynamic signals.

Looptrotter Emperor Limiter offers three attack/release presets:

  • FAST for limiting with dense saturation,
  • MED for fast compression,
  • SLOW for smoother, compressor-like operation.
  • The DRY/WET control lets users blend the original signal with processed audio for subtle colouration or full analogue character. Its 100% analogue signal path
  • features digital control of switches and potentiometers for precise dual-channel operation via the LINK function.

The Looptrotter Emperor Limiter is intuitive, reliable, and delivers powerful analogue sound.
