Line 6 POD HD Pro Guitar Processor Details

Line 6 has unparalleled experience in modelling technology compared to any other guitar company. Our collection, featuring some of the finest vintage, modern, and boutique tone machines, has never sounded better. You can explore tones inspired by heritage amps from Fender®, Vox®, Marshall®, and Hiwatt®, as well as refined boutique designs by Dr Z®, Bogner®, Divided By 13®, and more. The Line 6 POD HD Pro offers 25 HD amp models in exceptional HD quality.

If you prefer, you can disable the power amp models by selecting just the preamp from any of the 25 amp models to drive your tube amp’s power section. The flexibility of the POD HD Pro makes it perfect for any setup and can be optimised for use with a DT-series amp, a PA system, or other equipment. Line 6 stompbox modelers like the M9®, M13®, and DL4™ have set the standard for accuracy and authenticity in effects, creating a new category known as “M-class.” The Line 6 POD HD Pro includes a massive collection of over 100 M-class effects, featuring a wide variety of classic delays, reverbs, modulation effects, pitch effects, overdrives, filters, and more.

To fully utilise this collection, you can combine up to eight effects at once, adjust each parameter to your liking, and create parallel paths for two independent tones, each with its own amp and effects chain, using one or two input sources. This powerful feature allows you to recreate iconic sounds from tone history or design entirely new sonic landscapes.

For more than 15 years, we’ve transformed amp modelling from a novelty to a necessity. The Line 6 POD HD Pro’s new HD models mark a huge leap forward in modelling quality, delivering the feel, dynamics, and playability that make tube amps so beloved.

A speaker cabinet’s interaction with an amp is crucial to shaping tone. For the Line 6 POD HD Pro, we developed 16 new cab models that authentically capture the tones of 16 speaker cabinets, including their acoustic resonance and interaction with the amp. These models faithfully represent every detail in this critical part of the sound chain.

In the studio, choosing between a condenser, ribbon, or dynamic microphone is as important to your tone as adjusting your gain and tone settings. For the Line 6 POD HD Pro, we’ve completely rebuilt our mic models, drawing from eight essential recording microphones, to provide greater sonic detail and realism than ever before.

Many iconic artists have achieved signature tones by routing their signal through two rigs simultaneously. With the Line 6 POD HD Pro, you can easily create two independent amp and effects chains, then either pan them left and right, blend them in mono, or route them differently — whatever suits your tone.

While great power is often thought to come with great complexity, the Line 6 POD HD Pro challenges that assumption. Despite its extensive capabilities, the rack unit’s interface is user-friendly, with clear, intuitive controls familiar to all guitarists. Both minor tweaks and in-depth programmability are quick and straightforward.

To get the most out of the Line 6 POD HD Pro, you need an advanced editing tool. Line 6 POD HD Pro Edit goes beyond standard editor/librarian software, giving you a full platform to experiment with and fine-tune your sound. With dedicated sections for Effects, Amps, Mixer, and Set Lists, this free download from line6.com makes customisation effortless.

Need a wide range of tones at the tap of a switch? The Line 6 POD HD Pro has you covered. It boasts 512 memory slots for presets, allowing you to modify factory settings or create your own unique tones and save them for instant recall. For band use, you can arrange tones into Set Lists, with up to eight lists of 64 presets each.

After creating your custom Line 6 POD HD Pro tones, why not share them? At CustomTone.com, you can upload your presets to share with the Line 6 community, as well as download others’ creations – all for free.
