The Lexicon MPX G2 contains all hardware needed in a custom guitar effects rig. It offers quick and simple location of specific styles such as Rock or Blues, as well as types of programs such as Overdrive. Complete editing features facilitate the customization of presets, the creation of new programs, the design of Soft Row parameters, the duplication of effects into new programs, and the arrangement of effects into any sequence or routing configuration.
The Lexicon MPX G2 contains a “Hall of Fame” assortment of guitar effects such as Chorus, Compressors, analogue Distortions and Overdrives, tape-style Echoes, Flangers, vibey Phasers, Pitch Shifters, and vintage Wahs. A bypass button can defeat any of its 76 effects, which are broken into seven types. Six of the seven Gain effects are designed for use as stomp boxes in front of the guitar amp, where they deliver the same sound as the classics that inspired their design.
A “Feel” control for the Overdrive effect dials in the amount of sag associated with different batteries and power supplies. A fully featured, programmable recording Preamp on the Lexicon MPX G2 dials in tones ranging from super-clean to high gain. A built-in analogue speaker simulator applies the finishing touches with 16 cabinet variations.
The Lexicon MPX G2 also offers a collection of vintage effects including Octabuzz, Orange Phaser, Red Comp, Sweep Filter, Tremolo, UniVybe, and Wah (Type “C” or “V”), each faithful to the feel and sound of the original. Other essential effects include Auto Panner, Multi-voice Stereo Chorus, Detune, Diatonic Harmony, Mono and Stereo Flangers, Pitch Shifter, and Volume Pedal, as well as Rotary and other time-based modulation effects.
There are also several Mono and Stereo delay effects: Auto Looper, Ducking Delay, ultra-clean digital Delays, warm Echoes, and a JamMan® phrase looper. Delay times can be set with time values or rhythmically with the Tap button. A special Feedback Insert allows other effects to be placed inside the delay feedback loop, a studio secret used to create some classic delay textures.
A tone toolbox in the Lexicon MPX G2 allows users to polish and shape sounds. These tools include Mono and Stereo Parametric Equalizers (1, 2, 3, and 4-band), as well as a crossover and frequency splitter. Classic Lexicon reverb is well represented with Plate, Gate, Hall, Chamber, and Ambience effects. Dedicated processing resources allocated to these reverbs guarantee their availability in any program no matter which other effects are loaded.

The Lexicon MPX G2 seamlessly integrates vintage and modern guitar effects with advanced noise control and routing flexibility, making it ideal for live and studio use.
Its Stomp Box and Rack Effects faithfully recreate classics like Cry Baby®, Tube Screamer®, and UniVibe®, offering the sound and feel of original stomp boxes when placed between the guitar and amp. An analogue hard-wire relay maintains a direct signal path when effects are bypassed, and the analogue noise gate ensures clean dynamics without cutting post-gain effect tails. Classic rack effects like Delay, EQ, Pitch Shift, and Reverb can be routed through the amp effects loop, while a digital noise gate handles audio path noise.
The Direct Recording capabilities include a programmable analogue preamp delivering dynamic tones, an Amp Collection of over 20 amp simulations, and Studio Spaces programs powered by Lexicon’s legendary reverb algorithms. Effects like Acoustic Room, Gated Verb, Jazz Club, and Tape-delayed Plate simulate realistic recording environments, while Studio Effects provide classic processing options for guitar tracks. The built-in analogue speaker simulator also allows external preamps to serve as tone sources.
Flexible Effect Ordering and Routing lets users customise effect sequences by simply dragging and dropping blocks on a visual map. The front panel provides intuitive access to essential parameters through dedicated buttons for System, Edit, and Soft Row functionality.
The Patching System enables comprehensive control with features like A/B Glide, LFOs, and Tempo, assignable to multiple effect parameters. Up to five patches can be saved per program, with ten global patches available across all presets.
With extensive MIDI Implementation, the Lexicon MPX G2 allows full MIDI control of parameters, synchronisation with MIDI clock, and bulk data management. Users can transmit controller messages using internal sources like LFOs and pedals.
The Lexicon MPX R1 MIDI Remote Controller adds convenient foot control with stomp box-style buttons, LEDs, and programmable relays. It supports tap tempo, MIDI setups across multiple devices, and integrates a chromatic tuner for seamless performance.
