New Firmware Update Brings Enhanced Features
A recently released firmware update for the Korg MR-2000S introduces several new features to improve ease of use.

  • MR Control Link Function:
This feature allows you to synchronise multiple MR-2000S units for recording and playback. Word clock and transport commands such as PLAY and STOP can be sent via the S/P DIF cable to enable this function.
  • Stereo or Mono Recording Format Selection:
You can now choose between “Stereo” or “Dual Mono” as the recording format, offering greater compatibility with other devices and software.
  • Support for Mono Audio Files:
When playing a project recorded in “Dual Mono” format or files named with a numeral (e.g., trk1) or paired (e.g., _L, _R), they will play back as a Dual Mono stereo pair. If the paired file is not found, the monaural file will be output from both channels.
  • Professional Channel Status Block for S/P DIF Output:
The channel status block of the digital output from the S/P DIF terminal can now be used in “professional” mode. Selecting “Professional” sets the first channel status bit to “1”.
  • Improved Fast-forward and Rewind:
You can now hear sound while holding down the FF or REW button during playback, enabling easier navigation (commonly called scrubbing).
  • Support for AIFF File Playback:
The MR-2000S now supports playback of non-compressed AIFF files with extensions .aif, .aiff, or .aifc.
