At Gainlab Audio, we hold a special regard for the insights provided by our users. A notable portion of these inquiries pertains to the feasibility of employing our device in a dual mono mode. Owing to the distinct architecture of our equipment, our response had been negative thus far.
However, with Gainlab Audio Dictator, our intent was to craft a solution that embodies versatility, seamlessly adapting to contemporary materials and integrating effortlessly into modern production practices, all while retaining its traditional vacuum tube design.
Originally conceived to process two-channel stereo tracks while upholding meticulous stereo operation, Dictator’s controls were meticulously devised with this primary objective in mind. With the introduction of the Gainlab Audio Dictator Dual Mono Vari-Mu Compressor version, the synergy between the two channels remains paramount. However, each side now boasts a fully independent, parameterisable Vari-Mu compressor, offering nearly all the functionality present in the original Dictator.
Consequently, every control is equipped with switches to enable uniform operation on both compressors, maintaining identical settings. The sidechain functionality, of course, remains linkable. With these enhancements, the Gainlab Audio Dictator Dual Mono Vari-Mu Compressor emerges as a two-channel tube dynamics processor.
It can either imbue pulsating energy into a master bus or instil vivid saturation alongside previously unheard-of transients and rugged breaks. Alternatively, it can function as a straightforward saturator with minimal dynamic control. Now, whether applied to standalone tracks or during the recording process, the possibilities are expansive.
Leverage your Gainlab Audio gear alongside the Session Recall software! We include a complimentary device definition code for each of our product offerings. Session Recall stands as an innovative tool designed to preserve the settings of analogue devices lacking built-in memory.
This application facilitates the storage of comprehensive configurations for individual devices or multiple units, which can then be swiftly retrieved whenever needed. Regardless of whether you’re a musician, composer, or audio engineer, Session Recall seamlessly integrates into your workflow, effectively conserving your valuable time.
