The Fostex D-25 was a top-of-the-line digital master recorder with four heads, that was designed for professional post-production and editing. Additionally, the Fostex D-25 can resolve to a variety of external references, such as Word clock, Video Sync, and DAT frame + WORD.

A great DAT machine

In it’s day the Fostex D-25 was an insanely expensive recorder, like $20K. I picked mine up a few years ago for around $500, but like all old DAT recorders it had issues, but these things are totally worth fixing given the great build quality and sound quality.
