Quantec

Quantec is a German audio company that is best known for its high-end digital reverberation processors. The company was founded in the 1980s by Peter Böhm, who had previously worked for Siemens as an engineer. In 1982, Quantec released its first product, the QRS, which was a digital reverb unit that quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality sound. The QRS used an early form of digital signal processing, which allowed for greater precision and control over the reverb effect.

In the years that followed, Quantec continued to develop and refine its digital reverb technology, releasing several other popular products such as the QRS-XL and the Yardstick 2496. These products were used in a wide range of applications, from recording studios to concert halls. Despite its success, Quantec remained a relatively small company. Today, Quantec’s technology is still in use in many professional recording studios around the world, and the company remains highly regarded for its contributions to the field of digital reverb processing.
