Maselec

Maselec is a high-end audio equipment manufacturer founded by Leif Mases in Sweden in 1990. Leif Mases has a long history in the audio industry, having previously worked at Sony Pro Audio in the 1970s and then co-founding the SSL (Solid State Logic) console company in the 1980s. Maselec produces a range of high-quality audio processors, including equalizers, compressors, limiters, and converters. The company is known for its innovative designs and use of cutting-edge technology in its products. Maselec’s products are highly regarded in the professional audio industry, and are used in recording studios, mastering facilities, broadcast facilities, and live sound applications around the world. Some of Maselec’s most popular products include the MEA-2 stereo equalizer, the MLA-2 compressor, the MTC-1 mastering transfer console, and the MDS-2A/2B digital summing mixers.

The Maselec MEA-2 is a stereo or 2-channel, four-band precision analogue equaliser with stepped Q/shelf, frequency and cut/boost controls on each band. It is designed for recording and mastering applications where ultimate sonic performance, musicality and precision are required.
Released in 1999
The Maselec MLA-2 is a stereo or 2-channel compressor with stepped drive (input gain), ratio, attack and release time and output gain controls. For optimum transparency and freedom from noise the MLA-2 employs a non-VCA design.
Released in 2001
The Maselec MLA-4 is a multiband Compressor / Expander developed from the popular MLA-3 with added expander functions for all frequencies.
Released in 2014
The Maselec MTC-1X Stereo Mastering Console measures 3 U height with a depth ‘behind panel’ of 260mm and 10kg weight.
