Our Lips Are Sealed is a song by the American all-female band The Go-Go’s, that was released in 1981 as a single from their debut album, Beauty and the Beat. The song became a major hit, reaching the top 20 in the United States and the top 5 in Canada. It also became a popular international hit and remains one of the band’s most well-known and beloved songs.

The success of Our Lips Are Sealed helped to establish The Go-Go’s as one of the most popular and influential bands of the early 1980s. The song’s catchy melody, energetic rhythm, and upbeat lyrics about the power of secrecy and keeping things to oneself resonated with audiences, and helped to make the band a favorite among both critics and fans alike. Additionally, the fact that the song was written and performed entirely by women helped to break down gender barriers in the male-dominated world of rock music, and paved the way for other female artists to follow in their footsteps.

The tracking for Beauty and the Beat was carried out at Pennylane Studios, which was furnished with a Trident TSM console and a 24-track Otari MTR-90 2-inch machine. Classic outboard gear, including a Fairchild 670 compressor, EMT 140 plate reverb, Teletronix LA-2A, and a UREI 1176 compressor, was used to mix the song at The Record Plant.
