The RME M-16 AD is a professional 16-channel analogue-to-digital converter designed for high-end studio, stage, and broadcast environments. It delivers pristine conversion quality, combining exceptional analogue circuitry with advanced converter chips and RME’s renowned SteadyClock technology. Housed in a 2U 19-inch rackmount chassis, the RME M-16 AD offers precise A/D conversion with fully symmetrical, balanced inputs and extensive digital output options including ADAT and MADI.
Each of the 16 inputs can be individually set to one of three professional reference levels: +13 dBu, +19 dBu, or +24 dBu. The device also features an integrated analogue limiter capable of handling signal peaks up to +30 dBu without audible distortion, offering protection from overload in critical signal paths. LED level meters with five segments per channel provide clear visual feedback, while additional LEDs indicate limiter activity.
Digital connectivity on thr RME M-16 AD includes four ADAT outputs and a MADI optical output, supporting multichannel operation at sampling rates up to 192 kHz. Word Clock I/O and full MIDI remote control are included, with support for MIDI over MADI as well. All settings are stored internally for reliable, recallable operation, and units can be stacked using Automatic Delay Compensation for seamless multichannel expansion. The RME M-16 AD is built for reliability and precision in the most demanding professional audio systems.
