The RME Fireface UFX II is a powerful and versatile 60-channel USB audio interface designed to deliver uncompromising performance in professional studio environments. As the successor to the original UFX, this second-generation model refines the design with updated converters, enhanced clocking, and expanded functionality, while preserving the reliability, flexibility, and sonic precision that have made the Fireface series an industry standard.
At its core, the RME Fireface UFX II provides 30 inputs and 30 outputs, including four high-grade mic/line preamps with digitally controlled gain, six balanced line inputs, and eight balanced line outputs. Its advanced AD/DA conversion supports sample rates up to 192 kHz, with exceptional dynamic range, low latency, and pristine signal integrity. Designed around RME’s renowned SteadyClock FS technology, the UFX II offers ultra-low jitter performance, ensuring accurate stereo imaging and timing, even when clocked from external sources.
The interface connects via USB 2.0 with full support for macOS and Windows systems. It also features DURec, RME’s Direct USB Recording technology, which enables recording of up to 60 channels of audio directly to an external USB drive, ideal for capturing multitrack sessions in live or remote settings without a computer. This is managed through the front-panel USB port and colour display, providing metering, configuration access, and control over DURec functions.
TotalMix FX, RME’s advanced DSP-based mixing and routing software, offers zero-latency monitoring with flexible routing, snapshot storage, and integrated effects including EQ, reverb, and delay. The Fireface UFX II can operate entirely standalone, making it suitable for remote sessions, stage use, or installations where computer-free operation is essential.
Digital connectivity is comprehensive, including ADAT (dual optical I/O for 16 channels), AES/EBU, SPDIF, MIDI, and Word Clock. All connections are housed in a robust 1U rackmount chassis, and the unit supports simultaneous use of all analogue and digital I/O without compromise.
With precision German engineering, the RME Fireface UFX II delivers professional-grade performance, flexible routing, and unmatched reliability, making it an ideal centrepiece for demanding recording, mixing, and production workflows.
