Built using many of the same class-A topologies and custom transformers that defined the legendary Rupert Neve 5088 mixer, the Rupert Neve 5059 SATELLITE is a 16 x 2+2 summing mixer designed to deliver premium analogue sound and intuitive control, all housed in a 2U rack-mountable chassis.
The Rupert Neve 5059 SATELLITE offers 16 channels, each with level, pan, insert points, stereo 2 sends, and independent texture controls. This setup enables seamless integration with outboard gear, control over two independent stereo stems, and the ability to add rich analogue character in two tonal modes.
Drawing from the same lineage as the consoles behind countless hit records, the Rupert Neve 5059 SATELLITE imparts the unmistakable warmth and depth that have long been associated with Rupert Neve’s designs.
At the heart of the Rupert Neve 5059 SATELLITE is its sound – powered by ±24V class-A circuitry and custom transformers that have been refined over decades to eliminate crossover distortion and maximise clarity and headroom. The combination of this topology with Rupert’s transformer design delivers exceptional sonic purity alongside the saturated, larger-than-life tone that characterises his classic work.
While working entirely in-the-box can limit the use of high-end analogue equipment, the Rupert Neve 5059 SATELLITE addresses this with channel inserts for each of the 16 inputs. These provide straightforward connectivity with outboard gear and offer a pathway to expand functionality. For instance, connecting a second unit via the insert outputs enables the use of four aux sends across all 16 channels. The Rupert Neve 5059 can also be paired with other Rupert Neve Designs summing units as part of a modular analogue mixing and monitoring setup.
The Rupert Neve 5059 is equally well-suited for instrument or keyboard submixing, offering pannable inputs, insert and return paths for pedals and effects, and up to 10dB of gain per channel. Its always-active insert sends also allow for simultaneous recording of both a processed mix and individual channel outputs.
To tailor the harmonic content of your mix, the Rupert Neve 5059 SATELLITE features a continuously variable Texture control with Silk Red and Silk Blue modes. Silk Red enhances transformer saturation in the high and high-mid frequencies, bringing forward vibrant harmonics reminiscent of vintage Rupert Neve gear. Silk Blue shifts the emphasis to the lows and low-mids, adding fullness and weight – especially effective on thinner mixes. Unlike traditional EQ, these controls interact with the output transformers to introduce harmonically rich saturation, shaped by the amount of Texture applied.
You can drive the mix buss for added colour, adjust the Silk mode to suit your material, or disable Silk completely for a clean and open sound. The flexibility is entirely in your hands. With 16 channels of Rupert Neve class-A design and a wealth of tonal and routing options, the Rupert Neve 5059 SATELLITE is a powerful analogue enhancement for any DAW-based studio.
