The Tascam CD-RW900SX is designed for professional CD recording and playback across a range of demanding environments. As a recorder, it supports final mastering, dubbing from external sources, and audio archiving. As a player, it serves well in applications such as music and dialogue playback in industrial settings, houses of worship, retail spaces, and corporate environments. Its durable slot-loading drive is purpose-built for audio use and engineered to handle continuous operation with high reliability. Enhanced playback functions make it suitable for use as a professional-grade CD player.
The Tascam CD-RW900SX features independent input trim controls for both left and right analogue channels, along with a separate digital input level trim. This allows for precise adjustment of input levels, whether recording from analogue or digital sources.
Track division is highly customisable. The unit offers several automatic methods: digital direct (DD) detects track boundaries during digital transfers from sources like CD or MD; time-based division creates new tracks at fixed intervals from 1 to 10 minutes, ideal for conference recordings or continuous music sessions; and level-based division inserts a track marker when the signal drops below a set threshold between -24dB and -72dB. Manual track division is also available at the press of the record button.
For greater flexibility, the Tascam CD-RW900SX includes a sampling rate converter compatible with varying digital input frequencies. Synchronized recording begins and ends with the input signal, while the record mute function inserts four seconds of silence instantly. Additional features like fade-in and fade-out recording add further versatility.
Playback functionality is equally comprehensive. The Tascam CD-RW900SX offers auto-cue, auto-ready, pitch and key control, power-on playback, A-B repeat, and multiple play modes including single, program, and random. Its transport mechanism is specifically designed for professional audio applications and allows gapless track markers for uninterrupted live recording.
Connectivity includes unbalanced analogue inputs and outputs, along with coaxial and optical S/PDIF digital I/O, providing integration options for a variety of system designs.
