The Universal Audio Apollo x8 is an 18 x 24 Thunderbolt 3 audio interface designed for professional music production and post-production studios. It features high-end 24-bit/192 kHz audio conversion with a dynamic range of 129 dB and ultra-low total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) of -118 dB, ensuring exceptionally detailed and transparent audio capture.
With four Unison-enabled microphone preamps, the Apollo x8 accurately emulates the sound and behaviour of classic analogue gear. Unison technology replicates the impedance, gain staging, and circuit characteristics of legendary preamps from Neve, API, Manley, and SSL, providing authentic analogue tones.
Powered by onboard HEXA Core DSP, the interface includes six SHARC processors, delivering 50% more UAD plug-in processing power than previous Apollo models. This allows real-time tracking through Universal Audio’s collection of UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, including meticulously modelled vintage compressors, equalisers, tape machines, and guitar amplifiers.
The Universal Audio Apollo x8 offers extensive connectivity, featuring eight line inputs, eight line outputs, two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs, and two stereo headphone outputs. The Hi-Z inputs enable direct connection of guitars and basses, while multiple line outputs support flexible routing and monitoring configurations. Additionally, the interface supports 7.1 surround sound monitoring, making it suitable for both music and audio production in immersive formats.
Built in a robust rackmount chassis, the Universal Audio Apollo x8 integrates seamlessly into any studio setup. Dual Thunderbolt 3 ports provide high-speed data transfer and compatibility with Mac and Windows systems. Whether tracking, overdubbing, or mixing, the Universal Audio Apollo x8 delivers exceptional sound quality and the warmth of classic analogue recording gear, offering a premium recording experience without compromise.
