Crafted with pride and care in the UK, it boasts a retro-inspired look complete with a Legacy Edition rack case, while preserving its cutting-edge internals. The Cranborne Audio Carnaby HE2 Legacy Edition upholds our commitment to blending vintage charm with contemporary sound.
Cranborne Audio Carnaby HE2 Legacy Edition HarmonicEQ® brings forth the same groundbreaking EQ concept introduced in the Carnaby 500, harnessing harmonic saturation to elevate and sculpt frequency content. Experience authentic analogue harmonic saturation, seamlessly integrated into an equaliser interface for intuitive control and enhanced sound manipulation. Dive deeper into our innovative approach.
Dual-Channel HarmonicEQ® with Enhanced Capabilities
Whether applied in Stereo, Dual Mono, or Mid-Side configurations, Carnaby HE2 boasts three interactive bands of HarmonicEQ® per channel, all bypassable. Each band provides 10dB of boost/cut with sweepable, overlapping frequency controls. Much like its predecessor, Carnaby 500, each band of Carnaby HE2 is finely tuned to deliver a unique blend of harmonic richness tailored to its frequency range, ensuring optimal musicality.
High-Frequency Band (HI Band)
Spanning from 5kHz to 25kHz, the HI band employs smooth saturation to extend high frequencies beyond the audio band, imparting a sense of air and presence to vocals and acoustic instruments.
Mid-Frequency Band (MID Band)
The MID band functions as a peaking filter with a fixed Q, offering a wide sweepable frequency range from 200Hz to 6.2kHz. Through saturation, it accentuates harmonics across the frequency spectrum, enhancing the source material’s character.
Low-Frequency Band (LO Band)
Covering frequencies from 420Hz down to 20Hz, the LO band utilises hard-clipping saturation to enrich sub-harmonic frequencies, ideal for subtle warmth or intense low-end saturation effects.
Dynamic Responsiveness
In contrast to traditional EQs, Cranborne Audio Carnaby HE2 Legacy Edition exhibits dynamic responsiveness, increasing total boost/cut and harmonic content as input levels rise. Each band features Input and Output level controls, enabling up to ±20dB of level adjustment. This empowers users to push Carnaby HE2 harder for heightened saturation and distortion or dial back for cleaner EQ adjustments as needed.
Digitally Controlled
Flexibility with USB and Network Connectivity Cranborne Audio Carnaby HE2 Legacy Edition introduces advanced control options, allowing remote operation via USB or Ethernet network connectivity. The Control Plugin seamlessly integrates with the hardware, offering real-time control and preset management within your DAW environment.
Mid/Side Processing Capabilities
Suited for mastering, mixing, and sound design, Cranborne Audio Carnaby HE2 Legacy Edition supports Mid/Side processing, enabling independent application of HarmonicEQ® to the mid and side components of stereo signals. With built-in encoding and decoding, Carnaby HE2 simplifies Mid/Side processing without requiring additional hardware.
Inserts for External Hardware Integration
Each channel of Cranborne Audio Carnaby HE2 Legacy Edition features a bypassable TRS Insert, positioned post M/S encoding and pre M/S decoding. These inserts facilitate the integration of outboard hardware into the processing chain before HarmonicEQ® adjustments are applied.
