Apogee DA-2000 20-Bit Stereo D/A Converter

Apogee DA-2000 Studio Reference Standard Digital to Analog Converter – Switcher represents a milestone in digital conversion technology. Contained within the design are technologies that Apogee pioneered, such as low jitter clocking and critically matched filter designs.

Apogee DA-2000 20-Bit Stereo D/A Converter Details

With its comprehensive multiple digital input selection and expansive feature set, the Apogee DA-2000 will become the centre of your digital monitoring system. The Apogee DA-2000 offers 20 bits of resolution with clear, precise definition and locks to sample rates from 32kHz to 54kHz. A suite of functions to confirm correct operation includes a built-in precision digital oscillator for setting optimum audio levels and status bit derived word-length indication.

Both balanced and unbalanced outputs are included to interface to the widest range of equipment possible. The chassis of the Apogee DA-2000 is based on new design principles that present the controls clearly and cohesively for quick setup and operation. The backlit front panel is ideal for low light applications such as the studio or mastering environments.

The Apogee DA-2000 is designed to form the hub of your digital audio monitoring environment. With four AES/EBU and two S/PDIF coax inputs, all individually switched from the front panel, all your major pieces of stereo digital equipment can be routed to one device for the highest quality reference monitoring, without the need for external digital switchers and routing.

Switching between inputs is completely click-free, even if unsynchronised, and invalid inputs are muted to avoid monitor damage. Both balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs are provided, allowing the maximum of flexibility when hooking up monitor amplifiers, consoles and other equipment. Gold-plated connectors are universally employed for minimum signal degradation throughout the digital replay chain.

The inclusion of Apogee’s acclaimed UV22 – unique in a D/A conversion system – improves converter linearity and extracts the highest level of detail from incoming digital signals. With a combination of sonic perfection and flexible features, the Apogee DA-2000 is destined to continue the tradition of Apogee Reference Standards.
