Sony MU-E311 31 Band Equaliser

The Sony MU-E311 was part of Sony's complete range of professional audio products, matching the aesthetic, sound quality and build quality of the Sony MU-R201 stereo digital reverb.

Sony MU-E311 31 Band Equaliser Details

The Sony MU-E311 allows for precise equalisation by dividing the frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz into 31 frequency bands in 1:3 octave units. The built-in filters cut the lower and higher frequencies by 18 dB/octave.

To avoid noise or feedback issues, a true high-pass filter with an adjustable cutoff frequency between 20 Hz and 300 Hz is recommended. The low-pass filter has a cutoff frequency that can be adjusted between 4 kHz and 20 kHz for sharp attenuation of higher frequencies.

The input and output circuits of the Sony MU-E311 use floating electrically balanced types instead of the bulky types, resulting in a compact unit with a wide frequency range and low noise.

The input and output levels can be adjusted to suit the connected equipment. Peak indicators are provided to show excessive input or output signal clipping. The indicators will light up when the signal reaches the maximum permissible level.

The Sony MU-E311 can be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack. The unit’s feet can be removed for rack mounting. Additionally, the rack mount brackets on both sides can be removed for easy shelf or rack placement with other units.
