The Roland Fantom was a 76-note workstation that integrated performance and composition by keeping its sequencer active at all times. It utilised the XV-5080 sound engine with four stereo multiplex tones per patch, offering expansive sounds and 90 multi-effects including COSM Amp Modelling. The instrument featured a synth-weighted keyboard with channel aftertouch, a light-sensing D-Beam controller, and a large angled LCD for intuitive navigation.
